Get rid of the `sleep(.15)`

Currently we just assume there's a certain time between when the switch is requested by the program and when the switch actually happens; but would be nicer to use a short-lived subscription to some event (focus change?) to make this delay as short as possible, but possibly longer if the system is really swamped
