Rust Foundation is seeking comment on use of the "Rust" trademark in others' project names. From the proposed policy:

Can I use ‘Rust’ as part of the name for my project/product/initiative etc in reference to the Rust language?

Generally no - it is not permitted to use the Rust name or Logo as part of your own trademark, service mark, domain name, company name, trade name, product name or service name.

If you already have a product/product/initiative etc. that uses the Rust name or Logo, get in touch with us. We most likely will be willing to enter into a license agreement with you.

Those interested can submit comments through this form by April 16. I encourage a maintainer to reach an agreement with the Foundation sooner rather than later because I would hate to see this project get shut down.

Feedback submitted with a semi-detailed breakdown of the main issue related to alternative compilers.

With that said, the mrustc repository may need a readme update to clarify the unofficial-ness of it (and maybe to be clearer on the project's "SLA")
