I've read the contributing.md but I would like to help in order to be able to fix this : tauri-apps/tauri#5143

I suppose it will not be easy and will probably require long term effort and commitment.

Yes, we haven't really started on the work to integrate this crate with the rest of Tauri, which is what the comments in the linked issue seem to be talking about. I'll start using this to track that work.
