Suggestions for "Select supported department type"

I'm searching for any experience or description of "Select supported department type" of the Local plugin.

I'm a commercial photographer so the exact category is not available. Both Local Business and Professional Service seem appropriate, but have very different meanings. Any suggestions? Or any suggestions on how to see what other business chose?

Hi David,

If a more exact type isn't available, it's best to choose a parent type. In your case, it should indeed be "Professional Service." "Local Business" covers every type, but is even less descriptive.

Google My Business allows for a more granular selection, including "Photography" and "Photo studio." The types they provide there aren't always supported by search engines via the Local Business schema.org output; it is why Local doesn't offer them.
