I subscribed because I wanted to add the Article extension. Everything is running smoothly. However, when I publish a new post the sitemap-news.xml does not get updated. The article does get added to my usual sitemap.xml.
Is there any way to figure this out?
The articles extension is activated. Also enabled the article markup for blog posting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Google News Sitemap gets populated only with articles that have the NewsArticle type assigned. Regular Articles and BlogPostings won't get listed there --- those types do not correspond with Google News. Bear in mind that not all sites are eligible for Google News, as you must fulfill and abide by various strict requirements.
You can assign the type under "Structure" in the SEO Settings box. In the next update, you can assign this via quick and bulk-editing, too.
If you want to apply this setting to a whole post type, then you can do so via the Extension Settings screen. Please note that only posts that haven't been saved since you've activated Articles are affected.
I hope this explains the lot! If you want to learn more about the Article types, please check out the Articles types FAQ entry.
