Request for a condensed version #131
Comments
i will take it into consideration |
Thanks alot! It is a great font, and I am in no hurry. Take your time! :) |
I too wanted a more condensed variant like Iosevka so I scaled the current font using fontforge in the x-direction by 90% and created a 'Narrow' variant of Maple Mono. I thought somebody might find it useful so here are the files: |
TBH, I find it a bit too compact in IDEA, but acceptable in VSCode. So weird😅 |
@subframe7536 FWIW this new version looks pretty good to me in Kitty, thanks a lot for the effort :) ![]() |
Just wanted to give my vote to this too! I tried the test version and it looks so good. Just a little compactness adds a lot to the font, especially when looking at tables (text or data). Keep up the good work! @subframe7536 if the change to the code needed is not significant, could you please list the instructions needed to build the font with a different width? I am comfortable with python, but I don't know where to look or what to change exactly. |
@AmerM137 The condensed version is not on the road map to v7. Changing glyph width is a hard work. Existing build tools or script cannot transform perfectly, I have to check them manually, so it seems impossible to provide a flag for |
I would love if there was a condensed version available with lesser spacing between letters/characters (the width of characters are fine).

For example, you can look into something like Iosevka
