Maple Sans – sans-serif variant of Maple Mono #316

I've been pondering this for a while: What if Maple Mono has its own sans-serif variant? Just like Fira Code has Fira Sans, Geist Mono has Geist (Sans), and Roboto has Roboto Mono. Having "Maple Sans" would make font customization easier. No need to search for a separate sans-serif font for headings, contents, UI when you can use "Maple Sans" for everything. Of course it may not be all-purpose, but you get my idea. It seems no one has mentioned this yet, so I will get the ball rolling. If you settle on the idea, I will contribute as much as I can to see "Maple Sans" happen. |

Conclusion: I have no plan on sans-serif variant in the near future. I have made another font Maple UI, which merge modified There are many free sans-serif fonts available now, far outnumbering monospaced fonts in terms of quantity. Additionally, for me, creating a sans-serif font takes significantly more time than a monospaced font, as I need to redesign many characters and fine-tune their kerning. Therefore, I currently have no plans to create a sans-serif version. |

Yeah, I will make it open, since I have already experimented an interesting feature in #271, which maybe would make it possible. Also, merging and modifying another OFL font like Inter can reduce a lot works. For contribution, I haven't seen a good example of "how to contribute" among all popular open source font projects. Indeed, it is hard to collaborate, especially you need to buy an expensive font editor like FontLab or Glyphs (I shamefully use a cracked version of FontLab on Windows). FontForge is not suitable for me to create and maintain a font, because it lacks a lot of powerful utils and I am not a professional designer. |

@azzamsa The main reason I chose Google Sans is that someone has already shared a rounded version, and the 'G' is different from other famous sans-serif fonts, as well as the other glyphs are good. If let me choose an unmodified sans-serif font today, I would use I will use |
