Summary

Hi Stripe Support Team,
We have encountered an issue with the Stripe Terminal SDK (v4.1.0) on Samsung Fold devices running Android 14. Specifically, the Tap to Pay screen's contactless icon does not remain centered when the device is unfolded. Instead, the icon shifts to the right.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Use a Samsung Fold device running Android 14.
  • Implement and launch Tap to Pay functionality using Stripe Terminal SDK v4.1.0.
  • Observe the position of the contactless icon when the device is unfolded.
    Looking forward to your response.

Hi there, the Tap to Pay on Android SDK supports device-specific UX that dynamically indicates to the end user where the tap zone is located on the device. In some cases, the device may also report where its physical NFC contactless reader is located on the device, in which case the SDK will position the icon on screen there – even if the device reports that the position is not centered. This helps improve tap accuracy for cardholders.
