Deactivate address layer for Denmark?

Addresses are automatically imported for the Danish part of OSM (as nodes). Other address edits will therefore be reversed/cancelled automatically. Currently the quest "What's the house numer of this building?" is "Never shown in Denmark" for this reason (I assume). Wouldn't it make sense to also deactivate the Addresses layer in Denmark?

I don't know, someone would probably have to ask the other Danes for consensus. Is the database and sync 100% always correct, including precise coordinates? Or is it only (say) 99% precise, and sometimes things need small positional adjustments or other changes (which can be done via Addresess layer)?

If that is indeed so, then I agree it would make little sense for Addresses Overlay being available in Denmark.
It would help if you linked that Danish wikipage which says so? I've tried looking up https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:addr:* but it does not seem to have Danish translation?

If you can quote it (or link to to Danish community discussion reaching consensus about the issue) then you might want to open a new GitHub issue (instead of disscussion) to request Address Overlay to be disabled in Denmark.

However, as far as I can quickly tell, there is currently no way to disable any of the overlays on a per-country basis, so I'm not sure how problematic it would be to exclude Address overlay in StreetComplete.

Hi there, autoAWS operator here.

The "Deleting addresses" paragraph you refer to are the steps taken in the special situation where an oask:identifier no longer exists in the DAR (the offical registry) data. Then autoAWS will conserve any non-address tags that exists on the node as outlined.

A normal modification of a node in OSM, which I think is the scenario here (I am not a SC user myself), the procedure is as described in Updating addresses which will regard any deviation of the node's address data (ie. node location + listed addr: tags, se actual code here) from the DAR data as an error and correct it.

Please also see the English language outline of how Danish addresses are handled on the Addresses wiki-page. This was recently updated prompted by inquires from foreign mappers about combining POIs and addresses.

DAR data is in general considered to be of very high quality and there is a procedure to actually have the authoritative DAR data corrected in case there is a need to. And this usually works, although different municipalities administers it somewhat different. So all address nodes with an oask:identfier and no autoaws=ignore tag are reverted back to what DAR contains (applying corrections in oisfixes) during the daily autoAWS pass.

Thanks for the clarifications @mikini ! I agree that in such case it would be preferable to disable even address overlay for Denmark, as it is useless.
I suspect however that there might be technical issues with disabling Address Overlays per-country, so it is not trivial.

@ERYpTION would you then please create a new Feature request issue (not discussion) for disabling Address Overlay in Denmark, linking to this discussion (and from this discussion to the issue)? Thanks!
