How come stitches can SSR with NextJS pages router but not with the app router?

I see that the docs specify that SSR is supported by doing the following https://stitches.dev/docs/server-side-rendering - but I've been informed that this does not work expected when making use of Next 13+'s AppRouter - can anyone elaborate on why that is the case?
