source control shows diff between current local version and the current remote version

When a file is which is open in a changelist is opened in diff view, the diff shown is between current local version and the current remote version.
It should show the diff between the current local version and the version that was last synced to local.
As a consequence Source Control Provider also finds false diffs and shows diffs that are not even yours.
