Hi, I just tripped over some bad tiles in the terrain background. In the alps, there were three of them like here:
http://maps.stamen.com/m2i/#terrain-background/1000:1000/11/45.5158/5.5958

It does not seem to be an problem of the website but just how the tile looks like

compared to
http://stamen-tiles-b.a.ssl.fastly.net/terrain-background/11/1055/736.png

Hope this is somewhat useful.
