jj is great. I use it. It's goals are broader than StGit (i.e. to be a complete version control system) and it has a lot of momentum behind it. I think jj is a viable git replacement for many/most typical workflows. I would recommend jj to most people. I.e. I think StGit has existed since the dawn of Git (2005, 20 years!!) and has a feature set focused on maintaining a stack of patches. It's good at that. It is stable.
