Add pictures to calendar #1110

@EchoDev Would you be up for sharing which Calendar app you're using? Will see what we can do 👍 |
Hi @ay8s The Calendar app I'm using is Google Calendar, I think it is the default Android calendar Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar |
In your screenshot, the football events have a location set on the event. I created an event on my personal Google calendar and set the location. It appears that Google finds an image for that location and displays it. For anyone else looking at this for Google Calendar, I am using the "Schedule" view in the Android app. It doesn't show the images if I switch to the "Day" view. So while this repository may not be able to specify an exact image, it could set the location to the circuit, which might find a nice image. Using an emoji for the country in the event name (as the football events do) should be technically possible. |
Our ICS file does include the latitude/longitude of each race, unless it needs to be in another format for Google to pick it up. I'll close this out but if anyone finds a particular format Google Calendar prefers in order to pull out images, feel free to re-open or open another. 👍 I'll have a think about emoji flags being included. |
Would it be possible to add a nice background picture to the events on the calendar? I have a few others calendars and they add a picture of the stadium etc. (And maybe a flag of the country)
It adds a nice flair to the calendar in mobile apps. See attached screenshot for an example
