Defold is a free to use game engine with a developer-friendly license used for development of desktop, mobile, console and web games. Defold is used by a growing number of developers to create commercial hits as well as games for game jams and in schools to teach game development. Defold is known for its ease of use and it is praised for its technical documentation and friendly community of developers.

Defold is developed by the Defold Foundation. The foundation works together with industry partners to provide free and open software and services to game developers across the globe. The foundation believes in an open ecosystem of professional game development tools with excellent integrations to game services and platforms. The foundation believes access to professional game development tools and services should be available to developers around the world, enabling them to create the games of their dreams.

COVER 75% OF NATIVE EXTENSION BUILD SERVER COSTS. Donations of $1050 per month will be used to cover 75% of native extension build server costs - The Defold native extension build servers are hosted with AWS and provided completely free of charge to all of our users. COVER 100% OF DEFOLD USER FORUM COST. Donations of $50 per month will be used to cover 100% of Discourse user forum cost (forum.defold.com) - The user forum is the primary place for the Defold community to both get and give support.
