Evil is more ergonomic than default emacs bindings, but I rely on it for many packages:

  • C-g to exit
  • C-x C-e for inline eval
  • C-d p f / p for projectile
  • C-c j for git grep
    and perhaps many more.

It would be great if evil can be used for everything. There is some literature here: https://github.com/emacs-evil/evil-collection/blob/master/modes/cider/evil-collection-cider.el
