So I have the exact same setup as you, I built my system with Godot 3.1 but even in Godot 3.5 I've noticed that this method uses an insane amount of CPU time. I use a box and a single camera and only take 1 image. It takes my version 10-11 ms. I've tried to thread this off but am finding even if I do, it affects performance on some level. I've found there isn't really any good way around this performance issue. Have you known about this at all? Any insights?
