Hey I just noticed that I never posted my patch.
I've implemented these commands, replacing ptrace/procmem code, and it worked for me.

The patch is already ~1.5 years old and it was more of a proof of concept for me and I got side-tracked before I cleaned up the PR (e.g. some code references freebsd, which this clearly doesn't support)
