Hi you must be getting fed up of me but the good news is the fix you did yesterday for PVOutput worked with no errors at midnight. Hopefully my final request is.
I have been trying to instigate the Persistant Service as per instructuions but I cannot get the Palm service to run . I have ammended the palm.service and palm.script files to match my paths as I do not use Pi but evans in the paths but as I say I cannot get the persistant service to run. I have stopped the service and deleted the created service file for the moment. I am on a raspberry Pi 5

It's hard to say why this is happening, it could be down to a file ownership or permissions issue or a difference in your Linux setup. Have you created the directory for the logs? An alternative approach would be adding the command to the end of your rc.local file. Not as robust as running as a service, but it would run on boot.
Not sure how or why but I have now got the Persistant service to run in the background and it ran through the night so all good also the logging is working.
So once again thanks for your help
Cheers
