[Governance]: White paper links #266

That sounds like a good idea. In addition, in the UK-TRE community we're thinking of adding a "resource hub" to the website https://www.uktre.org/ . That might be a better long term home, so we keep the SATRE website for just the specification and anything directly linked to it, and have more general supporting TRE information on UK-TRE. What do you think? FYI @harisood |
Agreed, this looks perfect for the UK TRE site - more info coming next week @crickpetebarnsley ! |
Hi,
If the TRE Community discussion takes on things then is their a role to have a discussion section on the Citizen and their agency? As wella s one on the Defn of terms to allow separation. I am struck that the public probably do not care about differences too much but we should be clear on language we need to get to a point when the use of the terms actually convey meaning (that is language) and more specifically we can see the difference between a body that CURATES/COLLATES and looks after datasets so they can be used and the platforms that allow secured users to RESEARCH.
Cheers,
pete

UK-TRE is community driven, so as long as there are people willing to lead the conversation/discussions and help curate resources then it can happen! Note that UK-TRE doesn't necessarily have to be responsible for everything, we can also lean on other organisations or infrastructure but take a lead on ensuring people are aware of it. |

Detail
The present website presents the specification descriptions and also the evaluation model. These help people think about TREs and such. An additional source of help come fomr whitepapers people have made and prepared.
Perhaps a separate section of the SATRE website that would list whitepapers, perhaps in section areas (not too many) would also be a useful repository and point of reference for the community.
We would propose two:
TRE : what is a TRE and why it differs from an SDE (the topic of our lightening talk at Swansea)
https://doi.org/10.25418/crick.23626653.v1
Consent: Alongside the Swansea presentation we also presented a working whitepaper on consent and how this would be a vital element to the domains of data that SDEs and TREs are part of. See : https://doi.org/10.25418/crick.23587131.v1
Intended Output
A new section of the SATRE website that offers pointers to closely relevant whitepaper type material. Listed in some top level categories, probably alongside a short (100 word) description and title.
