Getting Help
Please use this template for feature requests only. For support on configuration or troubleshooting please see Getting Help for the appropriate channels.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When viewing a job execution, there is a "Follow" button at the top of the log output screen. Currently, its associated icon shows an eye or an eye with a slash through it.

It's unclear what these icons mean in relation to "Follow" and what they do. Does an eye open mean I'm watching or not watching? For a novice user, would a user understand what the difference is between setting the eye to closed and clicking "Pause" on log output? It's really confusing.

Lastly, I can't find where these behaviors are documented, so it's up to the user to figure it out.

Describe the solution you'd like

  1. Replace the eye icon with industry-standard "Play" ▶️ and "Pause" ⏸️ icons which are already used elsewhere in the UI (example - in jobs list, or overall execution mode)
  2. Change "Follow" text to "Following log output" or "Not following log output"
  3. Update the documentation (I created Jobs user guide is very out of date docs#1364 for this)

Describe alternatives you've considered
Simple documentation would help clear this up if the icon/text can't be changed/updated easily

Should also be noted that currently "Follow" functionality is broken in 4.17.x. #8574
