Really? There' still quite a lot that typst can't do ... Table formatting, for example, is far less flexible and easy than in markdown -> pandoc -> LaTex-type workflows. I keep stepping across into typst-land every now and then just to see how it looks, but never stay long. My last time was only a few months ago, and it still wasn't where I think it would need to be for something like this. Just an opinionated FYI 😛

Our book is super simple, so no need for complicated features.

For the record, regarding tables (no tables in the dev guide)

To allow similar styling between HTML and Typst, Quarto will translate CSS properties into Typst properties.

You are most likely to encounter Typst CSS when using libraries that produce HTML tables. The translation of the CSS means your table in Typst should look similar to how it looks in HTML without any intervention on your part.
