Can we add that reading and breaking down articles from various newspapers is a resource and strategy for the verbal section of the GRE? I have heard of this strategy from various sources and have implemented it myself, with good results. However, another thing to keep in mind is that students should vary the type of articles they are reading as the GRE will not provide only scientific excerpts, historic excerpts, or the specific type of reading students prefer.
Here are a list of various newspaper sites that I would read and break down their articles for preparation:
Can we also add a note that if one cannot brainstorm of good essay prompts to write with, there are practice AP Literature essay prompts that work. Of course, there is no better essay prompt to practice with if you can practice with a GRE essay prompt, but it is still a resource.
