So you basically want to make the pylustrator generated code more compact by using proplot? Or what exactly is your use case?

As you know, proplot offers greater flexibility and simplicity in formatting, but it is built upon matplotlib. The package you've developed is also matplotlib-based. Therefore, I attempted to use your package to optimize and customize plots created with proplot, but it seems that it doesn't work as expected. Consequently, I suggest that it would be beneficial if your package could support proplot in the future.

I am not sure if you need for flexibility in formatting if you use pylustrator anyway to overwrite the styles. This is the first time I hear of proplot, so I am not very familiar with it, I just had a quit look at the docs for now.
I will have a closer look at it.
