We would like to support Kopia eventually, particularly given some of the early performance improvements benchmarking we're seeing, but we do not yet have a timeline established for that work. Though the default path switched to kopia, restic is still supported in Velero 1.12 (https://velero.io/docs/v1.12/file-system-backup/#path-selection).
