Deploying Hygieia to OpenShift

Hygieia is a DevOps dashboarding project created by Capital One. This quickstart deploys Hygieia to OpenShift.

Setup Instructions

Install dependencies:

ansible-galaxy install -r requirements.yml -p galaxy

Edit .applier/group_vars/all to include the following values:

  • openshift_default_subdomain - Required. The subdomain of your OpenShift cluster to configure routes. (e.g. apps.my.openshift.cluster.com)

  • github_personal_access_token - Required. A personal access token that will allow access to private repos. While public repos do not require an access token, the github collector still expects it, so this is required.

  • jenkins_client_secret - The base64 encoded authentication token for the jenkins service account, so the dashboard can connect via an OAuth2 secured Jenkins instance.

  • jenkins_namespace - The namespace/project area of the remote Jenkins instance you wish to collect dashboard metrics for.

Deploy Hygieia, including creating a new namespace called hygieia:

ansible-playbook -i .applier/ galaxy/openshift-applier/playbooks/openshift-cluster-seed.yml -e filter_tags=all

If you would like to deploy to a different project:

ansible-playbook -i .applier/ galaxy/openshift-applier/playbooks/openshift-cluster-seed.yml -e filter_tags=all -e k8s_namespace=my-namespace

Roadmap

TODOs:

  • ✓ Build and Deploy API component

  • ✓ Build, deploy and automate Audit API component

  • ✓ Deploy and automate mongodb (in progress)

  • ✓ Get the UI to build using s2i. I’m thinking nodejs image → deploy to nginx (in progress)

  • ❏ Look at how we build/deploy/configure collectors
