It's totally not malicious, but how can all key events be monitored with keys; I looked at the mousetrap source very quickly and it defines many scancodes for keys that would be helpful to know their state (depressed, released?).

Sorry, but I don't have a great answer. I am not sure how this would work, or how to implement. PR's are welcome though! I see one issue that looks relevant but there is no response (ccampbell/mousetrap#396).
