@hess2021 should render as Hess and Hagen (2021), not (Hess and Hagen, 2021).

Note - for html output we currently always use the CSL style elsevier-harvard.csl when rendering citations and the bibliography. I wasn't able to find a CSL stylesheet that would provide the proper rendering for the other styles. Do you happen to have a suggestion?

Is there by any chance any progress on this issue?
With output format elsevier-pdf and the APA CSL from Zotero, the same issue occurs.

This is sample text.
@Feynman1963118 should be Feynman and Vernon Jr. (1963) and @Dirac1953888 should be Dirac (1963).
This is sample text.

And this is sample text.

I spent a little more time trying to find a stylesheet that would give you the results that you're looking for, but I wasn't able to find one. Do you have any guidance about reference styling that might help us find what you're looking for?

For the PDF this is solved in my case by stating the cite-style as authoryear.

@Feynman1963118 is Feynman and Vernon Jr. (1963) and [@Dirac1953888] is (Dirac, 1953).
