Employ more advanced DSP like FFT or Goertzel algorithm to help positively identify barks.

challenges: different dogs, different breeds, different mics, varying acoustic environments make possibly unreliable, or at least will result in many false-positives while ruling out a few extraneous noises (and possibly ruling out some very unusual dog noises)
