Any way to receive event notifications? Like when a bulb is on? #262
-
This isn't so much a 'feature request' but more of a discussion. I'd like to be able to subscribe to an event or something when a light is flipped on, or off... or whatever. Do the switches broadcast events or anything? any way to subscribe to them? any interesting way to do it interfacing with the device directly? I have a bunch of HS210's (3 way smart switch) that I have installed, mostly in single-pole configurations. I'd love to be able to know when a switch is turned on so I can keep track of run time myself, or do cool things like flip another switch when one switch is triggered. Thoughts? Creative ways to do it? |

These devices do not broadcast their state, at least not locally, so the only solution is to poll them for state changes. Many use homeassistant to perform automations like you are describing, so you might want to check it out. |
