partial updates

so i was wondering if there is a recipe on how to do partial updates?
so lets say i've written a serializer class, and i get a PATCH request

how would i handle that

should clarify that this would be different than giving a default value of None, cause that would just save that field as None as part of the update

if there is, it could also be a good example to be added to the docs

I'm not 100% sure I understand. Can you give an example please that demonstrates what you'd like to do?

so lets say i have a web api and a database
and i want to write a serializer using attrs

so if i have a data in database that looks like this:
{"id": 1, "title": "foo", "description": "some long sentence"}
and a serializer that looks like this:

@define
class Serializer:
    id: int
    title: str
    description: str

i may want to accept a patch request, which would give a data like this: {"id": 1, "Title": "bar"}

but in a normal case I can't give this to an attrs serializer, since it expects a "description" field as well

one option is to give a default of None, and skip None when saving

but then, i might actually want to save the None
