Latest release (20.35.1) breaks backwards compatibility with poetry and other libraries

Issue

Until yesterday we were able to build our docker containers successfully, today it breaks (due to the poetry and virtualenv versions not being pinned, so they pulled latests ones)

Environment

• OS: Host MacOS, docker container: python:3.12-slim

Relevant bits of the dockerfile:

RUN poetry config virtualenvs.create false

RUN poetry install --no-root --no-ansi --no-interaction --no-cache ...

After pinning virualenv versions to <20.35.1 docker containers were successfully build, up and tests passed
