add host network metrics #12
Comments
@wtip is this still needed? |
I personally don't need this because someone on my team rewrote our vmware exporter and added host network metrics so I'm not using this exporter anymore. |
@pryorda yes for me it's very usefull to have this metrics
|
@wtip would be nice to have the changes upstream! |

Is it possible to re-open this issue ? Most VMware hosts have dozens of networks interfaces and aggregated view doesnt really tell us much about the usage (for example about vMotion interface or replication interface, vSAN etc so be able to see which interface is hitting the ceiling etc ..) |
Hi, |
This is not an open issue anymore and there is no solution in this repository. |
Hi @wally007 , And is there a way to get a metric of the network state? |
From @wtip on July 21, 2017 18:21
I need some host network metrics so that I can keep an eye on host level network bottlenecks.
I probably would like to see throughput for each nic and not just an aggregate host throughput which seems useless.
I was trying to figure out what the
net.throughput.contention.summation
metric actually reports as this might be an easier alternative.Copied from original issue: rverchere/vmware_exporter#12
