When adding items in the Description field of Classes/Object Properties/Data Properties the currently selected item is changed

I can't determine what exactly triggers this, but:

Very often when you have a Class (or Object Property or Data Property) selected in the hierarchy view, and then "add" a description in the Description view, the relevant item in the hierarchy view is changed...usually (or maybe always) to the top of the hierarchy, i.e. owl:thing.

This means that it's extremely easy to apply "SubClass Of" to the wrong class. This seems to happen throughout the UI.

I am currently learning Protege, so my nomenclature may be off here. I can definitely attest that it has made learning more difficult, and I feel the need to constantly check to see that the thing I have selected is STILL selected whenever I make any changes.

Note that the video is using an older version of Protege Desktop, but I am using the current version 5.6.5 on MacOS.

I have occasionally been bitten by that bug as well.

Very annoying, and what is even more annoying is that I have never found a way to consistently trigger it, so I currently have no clue as to what the root cause could be.

I've noticed that it seems to happen only when it's the FIRST time I'm adding a Description...and that this is almost always when I've just recently clicked on any given Class, etc.

Once I notice the issue, going back and reselecting the Class and adding a Description doesn't seem to trigger it. My gut tells me that it's a "first time" issue. Maybe related to accessing a given View for the first time, or caused when switching tabs, or maybe just when first clicking a new class, etc...?
