It seems that during this projects long hibernation several forks cropped up and were in active use for long periods of time. Several of them had PRs with one-off fixes we've already started to take care of. However there also seem to be some more extensive works that were never contributed. These should at least be reviewed to understand why they existed and whether there are bits of them that would be worth integrating.

I like the autoclose thing from mvandercamp. But I am not sure about the options stuff. The xtra args seem to deal with this already and arent limiting option while not getting to verbose.
