If im changing the speed of the video directly from the extensions menu, its instantaneous, but if i do that through an assigned hotkey it takes sometime to take effect to change the speed or sometimes the hotkey doesn't even register the command. Please do look into this bug.

Hello. It's Instant for me so I can't reproduce the issue. A few questions

  1. What's your OS and browser vcrsion are you on?
  2. How many tabs do you generally have?
  3. Does this slowness happen on all websites?
  4. If you open your task manager / activity monitor, do you notice any problems?

  1. Using Chrome - Version 121.0.6167.184 (Official Build) (arm64)
  2. 2 - 3 open tabs
  3. So basically when i am on youtube and i fullscreen a video, then it doesn't happen, but when its not fullscreen, the video takes a lil bit of time (enough to be an annoyance) to speed up, happens on 1-2 website other than youtube too which i use.
  4. Nope, everything is okay. Google Chrome Helper (Renderer) takes a lil bit of cpu usage when i press the hotkeys but thats not substantial, normally the renderer ranges from 45% to 90%.

I have a macbook air m2 so with latest public release (Sonoma 14.3) so its quite powerful to handle it i guess. I have used different extensions (this is the best one soo far) but they do not lag while speeding up, every extension is instant. Only this extensions takes a lil bit of time (2 seconds +) to take effect ONLY WHEN USING HOTKEYS. I have assigned X key to speed up by 0.25 and Z key to decrease by -0.25

@ishaanrathodd Do you still experience this in the latest update? If you haven't received it yet, you can open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, and press Update to forcefully update to latest version.
