Difference between docker images

Hi guys,

I've been using plausible/analytics:v2.0 for years, and I just noticed another app using the Community Edition (CE) with ghcr.io/plausible/community-edition:v2.1.4.
I wanted to know the difference between the two?

ghcr.io/plausible/community-edition:v2.1.4 is newer :)

Here're their respective release notes:

• v2.1.4: v2.1.4 #4663
• v2.0.0 (aka v2.0 since there wasn't any patch release for it): v2.0.0 #3132

Here're all the changes between the two: v2.0.0...v2.1.4

Is the CE version the one to use because the other is no longer up to date? Or are they different images?
Do you know if I can just change the image or is there breaking changes?

From just purely a technical view, CE is the continuation of the previous line of self-hostable container images (that included plausible/analytics:v2.0). So they are more similar than different :) And v2.1.4 is just more recent. To learn more about the naming change you can skim the CE release blog post: https://plausible.io/blog/community-edition
