Scoring Template

Each valuator will make a copy of this template, fill in, and add as comment to the proposal ticket. Each criteria will be ranked on scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). Note, the scores are a guide to help on the decisions, but not a numerically defined end point for funding.

  1. Impact:

    • Is the project aimed at addressing a substantial issue or fulfilling a critical need? Will it represent a substantive benefit to the mission of OSM, ultimately resulting more and better use of open geo data?
    • What level of impact does the proposed solution offer?
    • [Score: /5]
  2. Feasibility:

    • Can the project be realistically accomplished with the available resources?
    • Are the proposed activities attainable within the designated timeframe?
    • [Score: /5]
  3. Innovation:

    • Does the project present a distinctive or inventive approach?
    • What sets it apart from other projects of a similar nature?
    • [Score: /5]
  4. Sustainability:

    • Does the project have a plan for sustainability beyond the grant period?
    • What is the long-term sustainability of the proposed solution?
    • [Score: /5]
  5. Budget Justification:

    • Is the budget adequately justified and appropriate for the proposed activities?
    • Are the expenses clearly delineated and essential for the success of the project?
    • [Score: /5]
  6. Community Engagement:

    • How will the project engage and positively impact the community?
    • Is there a strategy for involving the community and gathering feedback?
    • [Score: /5]

Total Score: add up scores from each criteria and divide by 6

Comments:

Provide any additional comments or feedback. Especially if rationale is not apparent from the scores themselves, or there are particular things to understand about the project. For instance, a high impact but high risk project could be called out for special consideration.

From the Project Funding Framework:

ad Impact:

  • Does the proposal profit specific subcommunities? How can the benefit potentially tranferred to other subcommunities?
(can also go to Community Engagement)

ad Feasibility:

  • How can the project progress measured by the Engineering Working Group?

ad Sustainability

  • What kind of documentation ensures that the project can be used long-term?
  • Is there an automated testing strategy to long-term check whether the project and depencies still work?
  • How are security updates fetched and applied?
  • How many and how diverse people have the necessary knowledge to maintain the project?
