Is using Scipp as a C++ library recommended?

According to this note in the scipp getting started guide, one should not use scipp from c++. Is this still the case?

Hi Pete!
We are unlikely to take away from the current API, but it really depends on how long-term you are thinking, and what you actually need. Over the past years more and more of the functionality was implemented on the Python side. If you are happy with some of the core bits you could use it as a C++ library, but it it unlikely that you'll get more than operations on scipp.Variable and scipp.DataArray.

Examples of what is missing in C++:

• scipp.DataGroup
• Coordinate transformations
• scippnexus
• Plotting and HTML representations for Jupyter notebooks

In hindsight, we would likely have developed even more of Scipp in Python (or at least, I would, see my pydims experiment), leaving only a core of threaded operations on arrays (keeping dims and units on the Python side).

All that aside, I'd be interested to hear what you are building.
