Full Logs Search

Feature Request:

Currently, the search option in Kunetail is not functional.

Using Ctrl+F only searches the logs currently displayed on screen, not the entire logs.

Request:

Implement a full log search functionality that can search across the entire log history/stream, not just the visible portion.

This will make it easier to locate specific errors, keywords, or timestamps without scrolling through thousands of lines manually.

Benefit:

Improves debugging efficiency.

Saves time when working with large log files.

Brings Kunetail closer to the usability of standard log viewers.

@Das-Rabindra Thanks for creating a discussion for log search. Currently, you can enable log search by installing the Kubetail Cluster Agent. This can be done using the Kubetail CLI tool:

kubetail cluster install

Once the cluster agent is running then you'll be able to do real-time search/grep like on the demo site:

Hi Team, In Kubetail, when I try to copy the logs displayed on the screen, it only copies the visible portion. If I scroll up or down to see longer logs, it still copies only what is currently shown on the screen, not the entire log output. Could you please check if there’s a way to enable full log copying or export the complete logs? Thanks, Rabindra

Hi Kubetail-Org/Kubetail, I’m using the latest version of *Google Chrome* on *Windows OS*. The *Kubetail* instance is running through *Docker*. The issue happens when I try to *copy logs from the pod section*. If you try it yourself — copy a long log and paste it into Notepad or anywhere else — only the part currently visible on the screen gets copied. Also, when scrolling up or down, the selection automatically changes or gets deselected. Thanks, Rabindra

Here's the behavior I'm seeing on windows/chrome:

There's definitely room for improvement (e.g. copy only the "message" column) but when I copy-paste I'm seeing the full line, not just what's visible in the browser window. Can you do a quick screen capture to show the behavior you're seeing?
