How do I keep my Jupyter Book 1 set up?

I have not made the upgrade 1.0 --> 2.0 yet, but when I was browsing around for simple rundown on the 1.0 to 2.0 change, I got a bit confused. There are many sources.

Is there a simple TL;DR explanation somewhere about "MyST 2.0"?
stuff like:

• fundamentally what 2.0 is and how it is different from 1.0
• the concrete user pain points or requests of "1.0" that MyST 2.0 delivers
  • how the changes in 2.0 address these pain points
• core features & limitations of 2.0 vs 1.0
• what 2.0 resolves, unblocks, fixes, or enables from 1.0
• can myst 2.0 be used along with sphinx?

The 2025 Scipy paper is the best place to learn about the fundamental aspects of 2.0. A simple bullet-list overview can also be found on the FAQ page

The MyST Guide contains relevant information, like the stack overview and also some historical background. At the moment I don't know of a concrete list of pain points that were addressed specifically.

No, Sphinx is an integral part of 1.0 and is not used in 2.0. Plugins are the most likely way that Sphinx extension behavior can be replicated in 2.0, though there are not a lot of community examples and the docs are being updated there.
