Creating an acronym list

Hi all,

I created an acronym list (see here) for my book using the list-table directive, and there are two issues I'm facing with it:

• I would like for it (and other list tables in this section) to be omitted from table numbering. Otherwise, I would have to include the tables' table in itself, and that just seems silly.
• I would like to be able to reference items in the table, e.g. I would like to be able to link "MRI" to the corresponding item in the list, rather than simply linking to the acronym tables (the current solution). I'm sure there's some way to do this, can't seem to find it.
