How do you enable @mentions of a Github App in a repository? Can you assign issues to apps?

I've installed an app I am building in a private repository but I cannot assign issues to it or @mention it. It is receiving webhooks for the repository.

This looks like it should be possible:

• Example 1 - Help page gives @jenkins-bot as an example Github App
• Example 2 - @dependabot Commands

Any idea how to enable this behavior?

Did you find a solution for it? I am struggling the exact same issue. Cannot @mention my own bot!

This is doable. Some people are doing it, but I can't figure out how. Did you ever figure it out?
