Another detail: the site had been up about ten minutes ago, but I wanted to make a quick change. I ran 'npm run start' from my local terminal, which pushed the changes to both branches in my repo, but removed the CNAME file from gh-pages. What is the correct way to update my repo without removing CNAME? Should I add a CNAME file to my local project? Or add it into .gitignore somehow? |

Quick update - it seems as though I needed to let my repo finish building and deploying between every change before continuing - let the new CNAME file deploy first, then update the custom domain. However, I'm still wondering the correct procedure to update the repo without removing the CNAME? |

Why won't my custom domain load my GitHub site? I have followed the directions as such:
I have configured my Host Records on Namecheap to be the four Github IP addresses, plus a CNAME for my user site
I have added my custom domain name in settings, and the DNS checked out
And I have a CNAME file with my domain www.connorxcollins.com in my gh-pages branch. The link to my repo is https://github.com/cxcollins/cxcollins.github.io/tree/gh-pages. What is going wrong here?
