Allow using README.adoc or README.rst for profiles

problem

• the github profile readme is a graphical & creative document

• and markdown sucks at all things graphical
  e.g.:

  • text alignment
  • image size
  • table rowspan, & colspan

• other thing profile readme often need to contain is links to some common domain. and markdown sucks at that too:

  • urls with common base
  • reusing values

  example:

  • projects on github.com,
  • badges/icons from from img.shields.io, devicon.io, etc
  • apps published to f-droid.org or play.google.com, etc etc
  • social media posts

all this makes for a verrrry ugly yucky and unmaintainable, unflexible, untoolable source code for the .md README file

proposal

so, i would like for the asciidoctor document i.e. README.adoc to be picked as the file to be rendered at my github profile page.

implementation

• github already supports rendering .adoc, .rst files
• github already picks even non md README.* files as the repo default preview
• required is just to apply that mechanism to the profile readme feature

wow, it seems that this functionality alraedy exists. just not exposed at all in the GUI. niice.
