I found this thing and wanted to try it but it keeps getting flagged

VirusTotal flagged it mostly as clean but one Suspicious.

However that doesn't mean that is either clean or malicious and you should proceed with caution when downloading executable.

GitHub is for source code hosting and while sometimes packages (with executable) are provided for ease of use, when there is no source code available to check for that (which seems to be the case), it's hard to know.
