document porting, abstractions, PACs, HALs, sharing crates #543
Comments
We have switched to using PACs and implementing embedded HAL traits for the bits we need in order to talk to peripherals - as intended, not full drivers. This needs guides and references in the README. 🦀 |

Brief Summary
Rust allows for easily sharing code. Unlike with C, there is a public registry from which we can (and already do) use crates.
Rust also has ideas on hardware abstraction and porting that we should look into, especially the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) design.
