This is a meta-issue of things to do for JOSE from conversation with @arfon @katyhuff @labarba @kyleniemeyer. These should likely be broken out into separate issues.

  • scope of work for JOSE features different from JOSS
    • be able to search based on keywords
  • reviewer checklist for education articles
  • reviewer checklist for lessons
  • editor guidelines for each
  • description of the types of content the journal will accept
  • metadata tags
  • keywords for submissions, and ability to search based on these
  • tag existing issues in the joss or whedon repos which would be high priority for jose
  • template email to potential reviewers describing the journal and asking people to review

This is about a year old. Curious if any of these can be ticked off?

I've checked off a few items. The one about tagging issues on the JOSS/whedon improvements that apply to JOSE only reflects in one issue, but it's completed:
openjournals/joss#329

We do not yet have keywords for submission, nor search based on these. We do not have metadata tags.

The sample email to invite reviewers is in the Editor's Guide that I wrote. I've been sending this link to editors when I assign them their first submission, since it's not findable from the JOSE site.
