as a non python person I am kind of intimidated at the number of steps in the readme, so I thought I might suggest creating a Dockerfile to make installation, local dev + deployment easier for n00bs like me!

That would be really great! I do not have the experience necessary to render this as a Dockerfile, but I agree that this would be a very helpful step to facilitate adoption.
