e.g., add it to init.d to ensure that it starts at boot.

Huh. Not done. This isn't working for reasons I don't understand. Probably because my concept of service management dates to Slackware in 1995.

Ahhh, init scripts have to be LSBized. I did not know that was a thing.

Also, this:

# sudo update-rc.d ckan-multisite start
update-rc.d: warning:  start runlevel arguments (none) do not match ckan-multisite Default-Start values (2 3 4 5)
update-rc.d: warning:  stop runlevel arguments (none) do not match ckan-multisite Default-Stop values (0 1 6)

It looks like I need to specify runlevels within the initscript, which is weird.
